Hair Loss Treatment and Removal Industry Expected to Pick Up in the U.S.

As the focus on outward appearance continues to play a central role in how we all judge ourselves - regardless of what others may think - its no wonder the market for miracle treatments and beauty-aimed products continues to skyrocket.

For anyone who is going through hair loss issues, the need to find a solution that will restore and keep a youthful appearance is even greater.

While not everyone might have the top dollar to pay for a surgical procedure, technologies and solutions are being introduced daily to make it easier and more cost effective to solve hair loss issues.

Even despite the recently winding down recession the U.S. economy faced, people are still in tune to their appearance, and as the market improves and more disposable income is avaliable their focus is turning more and more to these solutions.

A recently updated report from IBISWorld on the Hair Loss Treatment and Removal industry notes that the uptick in spending on this market is due not only to more disposable incomes but an aging population with greater focus on their outward appearance.

While these treatment and removal centers are popular the introduction of substitutes to the services like surgical procedures and pharmaceuticals and herbal / topical remedies will also stiffen the competition.

“Over the past five years, hair care centers have adapted to the widening availability of more effective forms of treatment,” said IBISWorld Industry Analyst David Yang.

Such techniques as nonsurgical hair replacement like human hair weaves and technology like laser removal and electrolysis have become known as the more effective alternative.

What’s perhaps most interesting is that the opposite trend where we once saw women mostly going to treatment centers for hair removal is now just the opposite. Their report finds a gender blur will occur as more males are going to treatment centers for hair removal procedures while women are more frequently undergoing hair loss treatments.
