Eat Your Way to Better Hair

For everything we’ve hear about battling hair loss and finding a cure to the issue, there is always talk about improving one’s personal diet and stress levels to try and curb the issue before it becomes a permanent problem.

But what exactly does that mean? How much of our diet needs to change to help with hair loss issues and what kind of foods should we be eating to help battle hair loss?

A recent news report from ARY highlighted five top foods we should be adding to our diets if we want to help stop hair loss.

Each of the food items come from specific food groups that contain vitamins and proteins necessary to strengthening important elements for our hair.

Researchers have found that a lack of Zinc from one’s body can lead to hair loss. So upping the amount of Zinc and Keratin in our diet should help curb that issue.

Foods that are rich in this include fish like salmon. Eggs also have tons of protein and vitamins that help with hair issues. Not only to be eaten, but eggs can also be applied to the hair as a topical treatment to help with strengthening.

Another great source of protein highlighted in the news report is chickpeas. These beans have a very high protein and folate content to help the hair. Because they are a common food, it is easy to incorporate them into a daily salad or even roast them for a crunchy snack.

Finally, one food item we don't typically hear about when we talk about healthy foods is potatoes. But don't fear this starchy item because it actually contains silica which is a very important piece to the puzzle as it helps to absorb all the vitamins and minerals you are digesting.
