Hair Loss Affects Almost 50 Percent of Irish Men under 30: DHI Hair Restoration Survey
A recent survey conducted by DHI Hair Restoration reports 49 percent of Irish men under 30 experience hair loss. Hair loss affects the confidence of most men (81 percent), especially when it comes to socializing.
As revealed in the survey, 71 percent are reluctant to talk about the issue with their peer group. However, 49 percent of those under 35 are ready to seek treatment for the problem if their partner wants them to; while only 5 percent said they are motivated to seek treatment merely based on celebrity endorsement.
According to 21 percent of survey participants, looks are the most important factor in attracting opposite sex, and 75 percent men under 35 feel less attractive to the opposite sex due to hair loss.
Genetics play a major role in hair loss with 75 percent of survey participants claiming that hair loss affected their kin and 79 percent cited their father had suffered hair loss.
“The findings of this hair loss survey highlight that a significant number of young Irish men are experiencing hair loss,” said Justin Foley, operations manager of DHI Hair Restoration based in the Beacon Medical Campus. “Hair loss has always been an issue which affects men’s confidence in a number of areas, both socially and at work.”
As awareness of permanent hair growth solutions grows, Irish men are less willing to accept permanent loss as something they must live with, Foley said. There are several techniques that provide men with affordable hair transplants.
“We offer a minimally invasive treatment that has excellent results, enabling our patients to experience dramatic results in a short space of time. I would urge anyone out there struggling with confidence issues resulting from hair loss to investigate their options, as there are treatments available out there,” Foley said.
Direct Hair Implementation provides latest hair restoration technique that eliminates the use of scalpels, leaving no scarring and involves no pain. The advanced hair transplantation technique also increases the survival and growth of hair follicles by diminishing their handling and the time they stay out of the skin. Modern hair transplant techniques offer natural looks as opposed to the plugged look delivered by old-fashioned hair restoration methods.
Thanks to modern techniques like ARTAS hair transplant techniques, patients can get natural hair transplants free of the old “plugs.” The new follicular unit extraction (FUE) technology applied in modern techniques extracts each graft of individual follicular units, as opposed to the grafts in strip method that contained as many as 15 follicles.
