Losing Your Hair Does Not Mean Losing Your Beauty
While the definition of what “Beautiful” is can vary from person to person and depend on a number of factors as well as individual perception, there are some traits in the opposite sex that have been commonly named as adding to outward appeal.
In women, that trait typically includes physical attributes and the length, color, style of their hair. Thankfully, society has moved past these superficial judgements of beauty for the most part but in cases when they are still being used as one of the factors to define beauty - hair loss can be devastating.
Men are not the only ones who suffer from hair loss. One study by the University of Chicago Medicine, said that women make up to 40 percent of individuals who are suffering from hair loss due to factors such as hormonal changes, menopause, and other factors.
For those women who have lost confidence due to thinning hair, or conditions like alopecia, there is hope and there are women who are in the spotlight, that suffer from the same issues, but are proving that they are still beautiful despite any hair issues.
Back in 2010, Miss Delaware, Kayla Mitchell, not only came forward to talk about her long time battle with hair loss, but she even sported her balding hair in some portions of the competition.
Mitchell has spent time speaking in public about her hair struggles and offering women in the world hope that solutions like hair transplants exist to help ensure they continue to feel beautiful - and more importantly to remind women that they are still beautiful- hair or no hair.
Other celebrities like Lady Gaga, Selma Blair and Khloe Kardashian have also come forward to admit their hair loss issues - whether from genetics, poor treatment, or stress - they are just like other women out there and have found solutions and coping methods to not only survive but still look beautiful regardless of the hair on their head.
