Summertime Can Mean Damage and Hair Loss if You Don’t Take Care
Summertime is a favorite season for many people. Not only because of the sun shining and warm outdoor weather, but summertime also means more relaxing at the beach, vacations and overall better, longer days.
If you’re worried about hair loss and protecting your tresses, beware that if proper care isn’t taken, summertime can also mean damage and hair loss.
Not only does exposure to the sun dry the hair, but the use of chemicals in the pools we swim in can also take a toll on our tresses.
A recent report from DNA of India revealed some tips and tricks from Patene experts on how to improve the quality and condition of your hair and keep it protected especially in the summer months.
The first tip offered was to pick a shampoo that best meets the particular needs of your hair type. This is critical to offering the protection and proper cleansing. If you hair is oily for example, the experts recommended using a shampoo to target and cleanse the scalp. While those with thinning hair are recommended to use a volumizing shampoo and place conditioner from the mid-shaft to the bottom of the hair, avoiding the scalp area.
Another typical hairstyle in the hot summer months are top buns, that pull the hair up around the crown and out of our faces. While this may be refreshing feeling, the added stress and pulling of hair strands could potentially do harm. Be sure if you are opting for this hairstyle you are keeping everything loose and not doing it too often this summer.
