Benefits of Basil Extended to Hair Loss

I recently started getting into the trend for healthy spa waters being shared across the web. One of the most interesting, and admittedly tasty waters I have tried is strawberry and basil water. It intrigued me that basil was included and I started to look further into the ingredient. It turns out it has a plethora of benefits. In fact, some resources are claiming its the one of the “world’s healthiest foods.”

Included in basil are flavonoids that help protect white blood cells and offer protection from radiation and oxygen damage to chromosomes. Basil is also known to offer benefits for  anti-inflammatory needs and helps promote cardiovascular health.

Aside from these many benefits, a recent report by Bustle.com lists the ingrident as also helping with hair loss issues.

Reportedly, oils that are extracted from the basil leaves can be used for such things as increased blood circulation. And we all know better circulation means the hair follicles can be awakened and grow.

According to the article on Bustle.com, “basil oil can seal around your thinning hair follicles, act as a stimulant, and a healer.”

Specifically for hair loss, basil can be used by applying a paste created with jojoboo oils or an already extracted oil form of the ingredient sold in a natural foods store for example.

Its recommended that this is used at least a few times a week directly on the scalp with wet or dry hair to see results.

I’ll be giving this a try over the next few weeks and checking back in with the results.
